A letter from Ratu Osea Gavidi and the Sanasana Village people to Louis Gerard Saliot

Dear Tamai Totoka

Vinaka Vakalevu for your good wishes of 2008. Likewise may you, Totoka and his mum enjoy 2008. You all deserve to have a BREAK for a change. Year 2007 has been a traumatic year for you. A major national deception has been conducted by a bunch of riff-raffs who took advantage of the December, 2006 coup de’ tat to carry out their misguided intentions.

You have suffered enough. Also APRIL executives and the other officials of your associated companies did NOT deserve to be treated like that. But the Momo (head chief) and Sanasana people still LOVE you all very much. Especially, you, Gerard Saliot, they hold you very dear in their hearts, men, women and children. They know you as a very good and honorable man. A man of integrity that they trust and respect. Sanasana and I will never desert you. We are all standing by you in spirit and loyalty to your vision about Natadola.

My own family who have had a LIFETIME relationship over generations with your people of Sanasana know the loyalty, Sanasana people have for you. They keep insisting that you RETURN and PURSUE your DREAM which has also become theirs too.

Thank you so much for standing by them, Gerard. You have poured your heart, your goodwill and your resources constantly on behalf of this village of Sanasana. They will never forget you. They always look forward for the day of your return to Sanasana with your family. I understand you assisted the children of Sanasana for Christmas and school fees / books etc. Many thanks for taking care of these children. I pray that God will bless you indeed for that.

We have worked very well together for the sake of the project, and in particular, your vision to be realised and your Master Plan to be implemented successfully so that all stakeholders, including Sanasana village can benefit.

I thank God Almighty for his grace, favor and blessings that have come through you to me and my family of Fiji’s indigenous resource owners since you stepped foot on the shores of this nation over 14 years ago. Praise be to God.

May God continue to Bless you and your family.

Vinaka Vakalevu
